This report is submitted in accordance with the requirements of the YES Grant Program. Included is a general accounting of the expenditure of funds through 09OCT01.

This is a story about community: Hillsdale, NJ; The AMA; its members and staff; parents and other citizens interested in providing an educational and safe recreation program for youth. Program Review at Mid-Point
Report of progress, problems and correction action needed/taken to attain Performance Goals stated on page 3 of the YES Grant Request follows:
Goal 1. as stated was overly optimistic. Although 10 percent was a long range goal it should be reduced. Recruitment is limited by physical resources including both funds and senior volunteers available.
Goal 2. On target. Most of all intermediate goals were met.
a. Promoted through Jon Brodak Mfg. & Dist. Inc. the expected marketing of a RTF Electric Control Line (ECL) plane.
b. Arranged with JP Models, a builder in Orlando, FL, to produce 10 modified C/L kits purchased from Brodak's into ECL's used for training.
c. Purchased 25 kits of PET-1 (Primary Electric Trainer) manufactured on our behalf by Aerocraft Ltd. of Riverhead, NY.
d. Prepared Public Affairs articles for magazines, newspapers and e magazines: Including Model Aviation, Flying Models, Stunt News; Local papers; The Record, New York Times and Pascack Press; e magazines; Ampeer and Control Line Airplane Web News.
e. The Garden State Circle Burners (GSCB) invite and affiliate the Hillsdale Flyers with all privileges of GSCB membership except voting rights.
Goal 3. Additional efforts are needed to improve the fundraising program to successfully attract a Primary Sponsor and in addition solicit benefactors to supplement needed funding. Getting our program "off the ground" will continue as our primary goal and needs maximum effort.
