About the Cover

Scale modeler Tom Czikk replicated the full-scale AT-6 that Fred Johnson and his family restored in 1993. Both aircraft are ready for the air show or racing circuit at a moment's notice.
Each Texan represents a passion for flight. In an article in this issue, Fred recalls that the full-scale renovation made him familiar with every nut and fitting on the airplane. As a modeler himself, the attention to detail required to complete the project was familiar to him.
Tom's model is an excellent example of attention to detail, and he gave every part of his AT-6 the same consideration that a full-scale pilot would give his aircraft. See if there is a Texan model in this issue that strikes your fancy.
