We are excited about this event and welcome the Boy Scouts of America!

A busy summer is winding down at the International Aeromodeling Center. The Nats is through for the year, and a number of other events including the International Radio Controlled Helicopter Association's (IRCHA) Jamboree, Helicopter and F3B (RC Soaring) Team Selections, Society of Antique Modelers (SAM) Championships, Scale warbird, and several FF events have taken place at the flying site.

As I write this, we are in the final planning stages of a huge, fun-filled event in October: Mission Radio Control. The Boys Scouts of America and the Academy of Model Aeronautics have teamed up for the Crossroads of America Council Fall 2006 Camporee.

The weekend event is expected to bring several thousand Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts to the site to participate in a variety of hands-on activities including flying buddy boxes, operating RC cars and boats, making kites, and building Sky Streak models to take home.

Other events and displays will include an LED night-fly spectacle, a visit to the National Model Aviation Museum, a show-car display, an obstacle course, a catapult range, and much more! We are excited about this event and welcome the Boy Scouts of America!

Is your name on the Walk of Fame? More than 500 individuals, clubs, and organizations have purchased bricks in the Walk of Fame in front of AMA Headquarters in Muncie, Indiana.

AMA offers three levels of donations: $100, $500, and $1,000. Purchasing a brick in the Walk of Fame is a great way to show support for your favorite hobby and sport for future generations. If you have questions about this program, please send me a note or give me a call, and I will assist you in any way I can.

As in previous columns, I am including a portion of the list of those who have purchased bricks. I will do so until all have been recognized. See what people and organizations will have names at AMA Headquarters for life.
MA

Safe flying.
