Flanker

Alex Kolyvanov (1635 Hemingway Ln., Iowa City IA 52240; E-mail: akm@ak-models.com) informed us that his SU-27 Flanker is a propeller-driven, jet-like model. It is constructed from balsa and light plywood. An O.S. .50CX engine turns a 10 x 8 APC propeller to power it.

The model weighs 6.5 pounds, has a wingspan of 58.5 inches, and an overall length of 58.5 inches. Alex wrote, “The Flanker flew very well, taking off from a rough grass field. Basic rolls, loops, inverted flight, knife-edge flight, and other maneuvers were executed with authority.”
