Tomcats John Simmons and Josh Thomas (College Station TX) built these F-14 Tomcats from Great Planes kits. Josh’s airplane is the one in the rear in the photo, and it is powered by an O.S. .91 FX. It features black and yellow MonoKote covering, mechanical retracts, and a Futaba 7UAF Super 7 radio system. Josh is a senior at Texas A&M studying construction science. John’s Tomcat (foreground) is powered by a SuperTigre .90. It is also covered with MonoKote and features the Blue Angels’ trim scheme. A JR five-channel radio handles guidance chores, and it also features mechanical retracts. John is a senior at Texas A&M studying aerospace engineering. |
