Mark Amisano (364 Village Blvd. N., Baldwinsville NY 13027; E-mail: email@example.com) sent this photo of his latest electric-powered model: a SlowPoke Sport .40 built from the Great Planes kit.
It is powered by an AstroFlight Cobalt 40 motor with a standard gearbox and a 13 x 6 electric propeller. Mark uses an 18-cell pack of Sanyo CP-2400 Ni-Cd cells.
The model weighs 7.6 pounds and has 1,070 square inches of wing area, for a wing loading of 16.4 ounces per square foot. It has Du-Bro lightweight foam wheels, which saved almost 5 ounces compared to rubber wheels, and covering is UltraCote.
"Flight times have been six to eight minutes," wrote Mark. "Like all my airplanes, it flies our flag on the tail."
