Candy Man P-51

Jim Nikodem (202 Meadow Ln., Oakwood Hills IL 60013) built this P-51D Mustang from a 25-year-old Stafford kit. He finished it in the color scheme of the Reno Racer Candy Man. An O.S. .40 rear exhaust engine that is fitted with a Magic Muffler provides power. The airplane features mechanical retracts and even the tailwheel retracts!

The model was painted with Rustoleum from spray cans. About that Jim wrote, “A great finish without all the equipment. You must be patient though. Wait more than 72 hours between coats or after sanding.”
