Pica Fw 190 D-9

Lakshmi Jagannathan (4213 W. Bart Dr., Chandler AZ 85226; E-mail: ljaganna@cox.net) built this Fw 190 D-9 from a Pica kit. The entire airplane was gel coated for a smooth finish and it features a 14-layer paint job. A YS .91 engine powers this model. The radio gear used includes a Tower Hobbies transmitter and receiver, with Futaba metal-geared ball-bearing servos for both ailerons. The rudder, elevator and throttle servos are JR ball-bearing units.

Lakshmi wrote, “I have been flying aerobatic planes for a while, and this is my first warbird. Who said warbirds are tough?” He added that the long moment arms and the wing design make this model extremely stable in the air.
