T-Craft is a “Gas”

Mark A. Preston (4445 De Los Arboles, Yorba Linda CA 92886) tells us that this Hangar 9 1/4-scale Taylorcraft is his first gas engine model airplane. He wrote, “I got tired of wiping off all that burnt fuel that gets all over the airplane after many flights.”

A Zenoah G-26 engine powers Mark’s model and it rotates a 16 x 10 propeller. An Airtronics 6000 radio-control system is used in the 85.5-inch wingspan model. The weight of the aircraft is 14 pounds. It is covered with UltraCote. Mark says that the only thing he would change is to add flaps because the T-Craft glides so well that it takes up most of the landing strip on landings.
