Patriotic TwinStar

Chuck Eberth (8650 Greenridge Ln., Beaumont TX 77707; E-mail: ace2617@hotmail.com) applied a patriotic trim scheme to his Hobbico TwinStar. Two O.S. .40LA engines power this colorful model, and it is guided by a Futaba T6Xs radio system.

Chuck modified the TwinStar by moving both firewalls forward by one inch to allow the installation of 6-ounce fuel tanks. This allows for six- to seven-minute flights as compared to the four- or five-minute flights that were the norm with the previous 4-ounce tanks installed. Chuck wrote, “When I went to rebalance the TwinStar I found that moving the engines forward removed the need for any additional noseweight, and it balanced perfectly.”
