| Giant Scale
P-51 George W. Smith (1011 SE 17th Ave., Cape Coral FL 33990; E-mail: liberty892@aol.com) tells us that this Top Flite P-51D Mustang is his first attempt at building a Giant Scale model. It is powered by a US 41 engine and features flaps and Robart retracts. It is covered with UltraCote and weighs 25 pounds. It has a wingspan of 85 inches. The radio used is a Futaba AT6XA. George wrote. “It took 18 months to build including the errors along with the corrections.” Shown in the photo with George and the Mustang are his two grandsons and flying buddies, Zachary and Jeremy Smith. |
