Christopher Couture (875 Tiogue Ave., Coventry RI 02816; E-mail: chris@tiffanyprinting.com) built this original-design model from drainpipe and other simple materials that he found at the hardware store.

The model has a wingspan of slightly more than 6 feet and weighs 13.5 pounds. It is powered by a stripped-down 18cc leaf-blower engine that has a pull starter and gas tank attached.

Christopher wrote, “It won’t quite hold a torque roll but it performs extremely well.”

An Airtronics radio with four standard servos was used for guidance. Christopher feels that the Drain Plane was an affordable way to get into a larger scale model.
