Scratch-built WACO E

Richard Good (Box 8375, Fort Mohave AZ 86427) built this WACO E from plans that he purchased from Model Aviation. Richard wrote, “I’m a 73-year-old retired truck driver who has had a strong love for aviation. Models have always been a part of my life.”

The aircraft was built from scratch and has a 72-inch wingspan. It weighs 11 pounds and is powered by an O.S. .91 FX four-stroke engine. An Airtronics Spectra seven-channel PCM radio is used.

The finish is a combination of nitrate clear dope base with one coat of Rust-Oleum auto primer and one coat of Rust-Oleum Antique White paint. It has Leather brown Rust-Oleum trim. The model took eight months to complete.
