| First Large-Scale Venture
William Pfeiffer (7275 Rita Ln., Cincinnati OH 45243; E-mail: bpfeiffer@fuse.net) wrote, “This is my first venture into large aircraft.” He was speaking of his Great Planes Giant Extra 330L. The model has a wingspan of 101 inches and weighs approximately 28 pounds. A MacMinarelli 85cc twin-cylinder engine turns a 26 x 10 propeller. The guidance chores are handled by Hitec RCD components and there are 10 servos on board. The Extra 330L is equipped with a TME smoke system. “The model flies well and can perform almost any maneuver, although I am still not completely at ease when flying this large-scale airplane,” William added. |
