Gordon Snyder (4746 Sky Meadows Rd., Cashmere WA 98815; E-mail: flingwing@cpucafe.com) sent in this photo of 12-year-old Grant Mchaney, who is a new member of the Red Apple Flyers (RAF) RC club in East Wenatchee, Washington. This is his newly finished Duraplane.

Grant went through the RAF’s Flight School Program and is expected to progress quickly to solo flight. Gordon suggests that any AMA club that does not have a formal flight-training program should think seriously about establishing one.

Gordon wrote, “We expect that the training program, which provides the path for anyone to go from zero to solo, will continue to have positive effects on the club and AMA membership into the future.”
