Getting Started With The AMA Website

The Academy of Model Aeronautics has upgraded the website to provide a better experience for our members.  One result of this change is a streamlined login system, making it easier to change your password, and contact information.  Gaining full access is a two step process.  Step one is creating your username on the website as detailed below.  This username is required to purchase items from the webstore.  Step two is linking the newly created web account to your AMA membership, which gives you full access to the Members Only section of the website.  Please follow the steps below to set up your username.

Initial login: 

1. Click the  button located at the top right corner of all web pages.
2. If you had access to the old website: 

a. Enter your username and password from the old website. Your username is your AMA number.
b. Fill out the following fields, and click the Login button:

c. No further action is required. You will now have complete access to the member’s only section. The username you enter above will be your new username to log onto the site. Using your AMA number as your new username is optional.

3. If you did not previously have access to the old website, or you do not remember your old password, click the link at the bottom of the page that says: Register a new web account now to create a new username.

a. Fill out the following fields, and click the register button:
(You may use your AMA number as your User Name.)

b. Now enter your first and last name on the following page, and click Update Profile:

c. Now click on your name up in the top right corner. This takes you to your profile page. Here you may change your name, link your membership to your username, or change your password. Fill in the following fields, and click the Link Membership button:

d. You will now have full access to the Members Only section of the website.

Login:

The first step is to log into the website by clicking the  button, at the top right corner of the website. Fill in your username and password and click the login button. If you wish to remain logged in after you close the web browser you may click the box next to: Remember me so that I do not have to re-enter my password. Once you log in, the site will display: Welcome <name>  at the top right of the website.

Profile:

Click your name at the top right of the website, which will take you to your profile. 

Here you may change your name, change your password, chage your address, or link your membership to your web account so that you may access the members only section of the website.

Main page:

To return to the main page at any time click on the AMA picture: 

Shopping cart:

The shopping cart is persistent as you navigate through the site. The number of items in the cart, as well as the total cost is shown under the search box in the top right corner. When you are ready to checkout, click the shopping cart which will take you to the shopping cart page, then click the Checkout button.

Change address:

To change your address, login to the website, then click your name at the top right of the website, which will take you to your profile. There you will be able to change your email address, street address, phone number, and privacy settings.
