Established by the Academy of Model Aeronautics' (AMA) Executive Council in 2003, the Heritage Program is the official list of organizations, businesses, and sites significant in the history of aeromodeling.

The program’s aim is to identify and memorialize these organizations, businesses, and sites and in the process collect, preserve, and interpret documents and materials related to each entity or landmark.

Nominations can be made by individuals or organizations and must be submitted to the National Model Aviation Museum and postmarked no later than August 31.
