The theme of this year’s contest was civilian aircraft. Entries centered on aircraft as it functions in everyday society - rescue helicopters, passanger airplanes, and cargo transport were the main focus of the art, but police helicopters, news helicopers, air racers and crop dusters also made an appearance. This year was the largest year yet for the contest with 194 entries, and approximetely 350 artists and family members attended the Awards Ceremony on Friday, February 20, 2009. All of the art submitted was creative, colorful and enjoyable.

All of the artwork exhibited in the contest will be on display in the Museum's main gallery until March 21, 2009.
