Kitecraft - Aeroplanes, Balloons, Gliders & Kites   3025
Kitecraft and Kite Tournaments, Charles M. Miller (1911): A reprint of the original, 1911 first edition of Charles M. Miller's book. This isn't a subject that one sees very often from this early period. It was published a mere 7 years after the Wright Brothers first powered flight! This Manual Arts book discusses model aeroplanes, hot air balloons, gliders and kites with many designs that are definitely inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement. The rubber band powered model airplanes are pretty interesting and there are even geared ones that can use multiple strands of rubber for longer flights. Hot air balloons are described as well as gliders. This is quite an enjoyable and instructive book and is quite scarce. Soft cover, 6" x 8", 144 page perfect bound book is printed on smooth, heavyweight paper to best display the many diagrams and illustrations.

Model Aeroplanes and Their Motors   3024
Originally published in 1916 this book has some of the most interesting ideas for motors for model aeroplanes. Included are: compressed-air motors; gas motors and steam power along with the more typical power plants of early model aviation. A history of model aviation with world record models and a dictionary of aeronautical terms. Building the consituent parts of the model including a rubber band winder are also covered. Some of the most interesting models are the flying boats which are covered in detail with diagrams of their construction. This softbound, 5¼"x 7¾", 132 page book is illustrated with photos, drawings, diagrams and model plans.

The Boys' Book of Model Aeroplanes   3026
The Boys' Book of Model Aeroplanes, Arthur A. Collins (1910): The original work by Collins, written in 1910 just 6 years after the historic Kitty Hawk flight. Great vintage model aircraft plans in this volume.Unbelievable amount of illustrations for a very early work. If you are interested in early flight and/or model airplanes (aeroplanes), this is definitely the book for you. Soft cover, 5-1/2" x 8", 308 pages, 18 chapters and 52 photographs and illustrations

The Second Boy's Book of Model Aeroplanes   3027
This is an intriguing book on model airplanes (aeroplanes). I had no idea that model airplanes (aeroplanes). This was the standard reference book about constructing these model airplanes (aeroplanes) as evidenced by it being referenced in Kitecraft and Kite Tournaments another vintage reprint. An unbelievable amount of illustrations for this early work. This 5-1/2" x 8", 262 page book is perfect bound, contains 16 chapters and profusely illustrated with 95 photographs and illustrations.
