District XI Vice President
Bryan Wood
Meridian, Idaho
Dear AMA District XI Members,
I am Bryan Wood of Meridian, Idaho, and am currently running for the position of AMA District XI Vice-President. I am currently serving you as Associate Vice-President, and have been for 4 years. I am a Life member of the Academy, member of the Heritage and Legacy Societies, annual Foundation donor, and have been a lifelong modeler for over 35 years.
Having served in the USAF for 24 yrs, I have had the opportunity to live and fly in nine states, and five other countries. I have served as a club officer, board member, and member at large. I have flown control line, free flight rubber as a young kid, though just about every type of R/C including indoors, FPV, and high-powered Rockets. I am an active Contest Director, Turbine Waiver holder, and a U.S. Scale Masters/Northwest Scale certified flight and static judge. Model building and flying is a lifelong passion and I also enjoy meeting fellow modelers at the field, and trade shows alike.
If elected, I will continue building on what Chuck Bower, and Mike Mosbrooker started. I want to concentrate on adding new AVP’s and Leader Members in underserved areas like Southern/Western Montana, and Southern Oregon. I am a straight shooter, tell you like it is, not afraid to tackle the tough items, and do not sugarcoat anything. I look forward to furthering model aviation along with you in the years to come, as well as take on the legal challenges that face our hobby as a whole.
