The museum steering committee is made up of six individuals who have backgrounds in either model aviation or museum management. The steering committee meets throughout the year to discuss educational programming and museum developments.
Brief biographies on each of the steering committee members are below. |
Bliss Teague, Chairman |

Doug Holland Doug began building “wind-up” model airplanes at the age of nine. Even though he could not build models during World War II, he kept up-to-date with the latest modeling trends through magazines sent to him by his family. After the war, he flew Control Line and various categories of Free Flight. Today his main interest is Radio Control Electric, though Free Flight is still his first love. In addition to serving as steering committee chairman since the summer of 2000, Doug also is the AMA executive vice president. |

John Hunton Retired from the CIA, John is an architect by trade. He designed the AMA’s National Aeromodeling Center in Reston, Virginia, in 1981. Later, in 1990, he developed the initial master plan for the Muncie site and designed the existing museum building. A lifelong modeler, John has published more than 70 articles on model aviation, 26 of which were in collaboration with Bill Winter. From 1975 to 1981, John was involved with Remotely Piloted Vehicles as an aeromechanical engineer and with the Melpar Division of E-Systems as a test pilot. |

John Marsh John is currently an Instructor of History at the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities located at Ball State University. John served at the director and curator of the Grissom Air Museum from 1999 -2006. In addition, he is a freelance writer and has written for The Indianapolis News and The Indianapolis Star. John has a business degree from Indiana University and a master’s degree in history from Ball State. |

Mary Raggio Mary Raggio served as executive director of The Muncie Children’s Museum from January 1989 until August 2001. During that time, she was responsible for the tremendous growth of the 20-year-old institution and was involved in all aspects of the children's museum, including its design, exhibit development, and fabrication. Mary attended the College of Architecture and Planning at Ball State University. |

Norm Rosenstock Norm has been involved in aeromodeling his entire life, working for numerous model airplane companies, and more recently devoting his time to document the history of aeromodeling. In 1987 Norm wrote Joe Raspante’s biography and in 1989 he wrote his autobiography, Tales of an Ancient Modeler. He also has written articles for several model aviation magazines. Norm has designed a number of aircraft, including the first hand-held, self-contained, radio-control transmitter in 1951. Norm was named AMA historian in 1996 and has kept busy documenting the biographies of other aeromodelers. |

Karen Vincent Karen Vincent is the director of collections at the Minnetrista Cultural Center in Muncie, Indiana. She joined Minnetrista’s staff in 1988 as registrar and became program officer in 1995. In her current position, Karen directs and coordinates activities concerning, research, collections, and regional initiatives. Karen has a bachelor’s degree in history from Ball State University. |
