Join the AMA in celebrating National Model Aviation Day
National Model Aviation Day was created to encourage clubs to celebrate the hobby and share it with the public and their local communities. The AMA is devoted to inspiring the young and young-at-heart to pursue a hobby that will inspire creativity and learning through hands-on opportunities.
Since the inaugural 2013 event, nearly 100 AMA chartered clubs have participated in National Model Aviation Day. More than 20 clubs from California to Florida are planning to commemorate this special day later this month.
“National Model Aviation Day is an excellent day for clubs to share model flying with their communities. Every year, we hear from clubs who report that their National Model Aviation Day events were a huge success because kids and adults alike were able to experience the hobby in a fun and educational setting,” said AMA Foundation Director Kelsie Walker. “We also have clubs that use their events to fundraise for the AMA Foundation, so we can continue to propel model aviation forward on a national level. I’m so grateful to all of the clubs that participate each year.”
